i finally got enought money together to get a new camera….my old one was just not doing it for me anymore, it was a very simple point and shoot with not may functions on it. The battery case was broken and held together with good old sticky tape resulting in the camera thinking the newly charged batteries were dead…..i got a great deal at the new harvey norman store in puke, it was $599 and i got it for $399.

meet my new one….its a olympus MJU1000, i am amazed that such a little camera can do so much stuff. It has 10mb, 3x optical zoom and about 15 different settings ie Portraid, landscape, fireworks and inside. Im still tring to figure out how it all works lol!!!!

my new camera

Here are a few pics…as promised.RobbieJen and Robs

Hi all I am back….finally.

For those who don’t know my PC has been out of action for about 10 weeks now…..those thunderstorms we had back in late June early July completely fried my computer and I have been waiting for my insurance company to arrange for me to get a replacement.

I have been so lost with out my regular daily surfing hit, but in the end it has been worth it because my new PC is faster and more up-to date than my old one….I even have Windows Vista which so far  has proven to be very user friendly. I  have most of my  programs reloaded and I even managed to get my photos from my old computer recovered and put on my new one…very relieved I was because they were all of Robbie when he was first born plus a few pregnancy photos which I would have really regretted loosing….note always back up your photos.

Well that’s it for now I will up load some up-to date photos of Robbie ( who BTW is growing like a mushroom) when I get some more time.

Peace out

This was sent to me by my sister. I thought I would share.

1.) Fine

This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

2.) Five minutes

If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

3.) Nothing

This is the calm before the storm. This always means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with nothing usually end in fine.

4.) Go ahead

This is a dare, not permission. Don’t Do It!

5.) *Loud sigh*

This is actually a word, but is a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an idiot and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to #3 for the meaning of nothing.)

6.) That’s okay

This is one of the most dangerous statements a woman can make to a man.

‘That’s okay’ means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

7.) Thanks

A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint.

Just say you’re welcome.

8.) Whatever

Is a women’s way of saying f you, buddy!

9.) Don’t worry about it, I got it

Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself.

This will

later result in a man asking “What’s wrong?” For the woman’s response refer to #3.

Kev fixed the hot water but there is still a leak in the pipe. He managed to get a fitting for it yesterday but hasn’t had the chance to see if it will work yet so if I need water I have to go outside and turn the pump on then turn it off again when I am finished…not very impressed.

Its bitterly cold here today, the fire is roaring but I still feel cold. These old farmhouses don’t seem to be able to heat up. The bedrooms are so cold at night that their is water dripping down the walls & the bedding ends up socking wet by the morning. I am going to borrow a dehumidifier from a friend to see if it makes any difference and we are going to get a gas heater to try and warm the rooms up a bit.

I had my last check with my substitute midwife today (my midwife went on holiday just after Robbie was born). It was a bit sad because she has been such a huge help to me with my aftercare and I will miss her weekly visits. Robbie is doing really well, he now weighs 9 pound 16 ounces which means he has put on 580 grams in 2 weeks…. must be my fantastic milk supply LOL!!!

I have finally made a decision on what theme I am going to have for our circle journal and have just ordered a 6×6 chipboard binder album from Trade Me. Now as soon as it arrives I have to find the time to do the title page before our crop next month.

Robbie is asleep, Jenna is off school sick and watching the TV and I have finally been able to connect to the Internet after 3 days of trying.

Robbie is going through a growth spurt which means wanting to be fed every 2 hours…sigh. The poor little mite is also suffering from wind….he screams the house down and screws up his little face in pain, it breaks my heart to see him in pain.

Our hot water decided to have a hissy fit yesterday and go on holiday for a while…must be too cold for it lol!!!!

Kev figured out it was the valve thingy and replaced it with one that he found down at one of the unused workers quarters on the farm. We now have hot water but we discovered that one of the main water pipes has a major leak in it and when Kev tried to fix it he made it worse so now we have to go into town and get some new fittings, hence the pump is turned off and we now have no water at all. Hopefully he can get into town sometime today but he has a funeral to go to at 11am for a very dear friend who passed away on Friday after being diagnosed with Cancer just before Christmas.

Robbie has been a tad unsettled the past 2 days. He has gone from having 3-4 hour sleeps day and night to having a huge feed then waking every hour wanting to be cuddled. Maybe it’s a growth spurt? or maybe the little monkey just likes hugs from his Mum LOL!!!!

Although I do love giving him hugs, because he is so darn cute when he is sleeping ( and when he’s awake) I am not getting much done. I finally had enough today after having a night of no sleep because he wanted cuddles all the time, I decided it was time for some tuff love and I left him to cry himself to sleep….it only took a few minutes and he settled himself but woke up 40 minutes later wanting to be fed again….sigh the perils of being a mother to a newborn

I did my very first outing by myself yesterday and took Robbie to Pac n Save to do the weekly food shopping. It went ok, but he was very unsettled and wanted to be carried the whole time we were in there…. thankfully the checkout girls were very helpful and loaded my groceries onto the conveyer belt for me. I am really not looking forward to doing the shopping again next week…its very stressful.

That has to be one of the hardest things I have ever done in my life, but I am so glad that he is finally here….and oh so cute. I am so glad to be home.

My waters brock at 7:20 on Friday night. I went into Puke Hospital at 2:30 am when my contractions weere 5 min apart. By 10 am on Saturday I was transfered to Middlemore because I had very slow progress after 7 hours of going through hell pain. I so needed an epidural by then and what a relief it was once I had it. I continued to labour until 5:45 pm and even though I was fully dilated Robbie still didn’t want to come out, so I was taken up to surgery to try and see if a ventouse ( vacume) would work…which didn’t so I ended up having a C section.

Robbie was born at 6:56 pm weighing in at 8 1/2 pounds. Apparently he was face up and there was no way that any amount of pushing would of goten him out.

Robbie is such a placid baby…he hardly ever cries. Hopfully it will continue to last. He is very alert, but tends to have a feed then sleep during the day but he likes to be awake and feed constantly at night. He has a wee bit of Jaundice so we are giving him nice sunbaths 3-4 times a day.

I so can’t wait for this to be over…I feel like a elephant. Its hard to walk or move for that matter lol!!!

Saw my midwife yesterday. Apparently my stomach has grown from 39 cm to 42 cm in 6 day EKKK!!!!! this baby is going to be huge, I am so afraid that I will not be able to push him out…what was I thinking when I made the decision to try and have no pain killers lol!!!

And to make matters worse I just found out that my Midwife is going on holiday as of 6pm next Monday so if he is not here by then I will have my back up midwife who I don’t really like, but I  supose it dosn’t matter what Midwife I have because at the end of the day she knows whats she’s doing.

Thanks to everyone for there well wishes it is very much appreciated. Its nice to know that people are thinking of me

Will keep you all updated

Hugs

M

Yep I am still here and baby is staying right were he is lol!!!!  My scan due date isn’t until next Friday but by my dates I am due today so hopefully it won’t be too much longer.I am now beginning to get very impatient with waiting for something to happen thought.

I am having quite a few Braxton Hicks contractions now but they never develop into anything…GRRRRR.

I saw my Midwife on Wednesday and she just told me to hang in and get plenty of rest because he is just doing what he is meant to do and will come when he’s ready.

I started feeling sick yesterday and now I have a full blown head cold…the last thing I need when I am in labour, hopefully I will get rid of it before then.

Take a look at this photo I took the other week of my huge belly, the pic is not the best because I had to take it myself with the timer thinggie on my camera, but you can get the idea.
